Below is a list of off leash dog parks in the DFW area. This list is a work in progress. There will be more added to this list as we have time to list and as we find more parks to list. The dog parks are arranged by city in alphabetical order. Dog Parks in Addison, Texas

  • Dallas Address but located near (or in) Addison! (From the review of Jessica L. -This park is hidden really well. The easiest way to find it is to turn in when you see the sign for Dovie's. Drive all the way down the parking lot, make a left before the tennis courts, and it'll be straight ahead.
  • Redding Trail Dog park located on the East Extension of Redding Trail Linear Park and Loos Dog Run located on the West Extension of the trail
  • Smaller to medium sized dog park
  • Separate area for small dogs
  • Lots of grass
  • Water fountain
  • Pet disposal Station
  • No lights at night
  • Not much shade-lack of trees inside fences.

Dog Parks in Allen, Texas

*MUTTS Canine Cantina (Private Park but can gain access by pre-registration and pay some fees)

  • Be sure to pre register online or you may be turned away and check all the fees/packages offered
  • Can purchase food and drinks 
  • Has events and live music at times
  • Not just a dog park
  • Fenced areas for small and large dogs but small dog area is much smaller
  • Some shaded areas
  • Lit up at night
  • Attendants watch over the dogs and will put dogs in time out for bad behavior
  • Be mindful dogs may tip over your drinks

Close by Addison but in Dallas city limits.

*Pawsome Playground Dog Park

  • Separate area for small dogs
  • Fairly large sized dog park with open space
  • No water fountains-Has some containers of water but bring your own to be safe because it runs out often
  • Fire Hydrant
  • Little if any shade from trees
  • Disposal stations
  • Covered sitting area with bleachers
  • Parking is fairly minimal
  • Busiest after 6pm
  • Large dog area is lit at night
  • Open when other dog parks are closed
  • Can get muddy on the large dog park side
  • Can get smelly from the nearby water treatment facility 
  • No restroom just portapotty 
  • Still highly rated

  • Can sit to overlook the dog parks
  • Separate area for small dogs
  • Shade from trees especially in big dog area
  • Benches to sit on and chairs
  • Some obstacles for the dogs
  • On the medium size of parks (this is not a big  open field)
  • Parking could be bigger especially on busy days
  • Could use more sitting areas in the shade for the dining and drinking and more seating outside on busy days
  • Overall very fun experience

  • The waterfront area for dogs is sectioned off so they don’t get lost in the lake. However, it is still good advice to use a dog life jacket. 
  • Dogs may see ducks and try to chase them far into the water
  • Concrete pathways all the way around the inside of the dog park in the small and large dog parks.

  • Fans
  • Toys and leash holders

  • Ample parking (Don’t park in reserved spots)
  • Highly Rated/well maintained

*Bark Park Central AKA Deep Ellum Dog Park

Dog Park in Deep Elm with lots of artwork on the columns of the overhead bridge           

  • 1.2 acre dog park
  • Lots of shaded areas with benches
  • Some dog agility play structures
  • Water fountains for dogs but bring your own in the winter (shut off)
  • No separate areas for small dogs
  • Can be very loud because of overhead bridge and traffic (not good if your dog is noise sensitive or scared of noises)
  • Waste Stations
  • Can be dusty and can have trash laying around 
  • Homeless people may pander or leave trash, etc.
  • May not be safe at night
  • Paid parking across the street or metered parking but no free parking for the park itself

  • Not much grass at times because the dogs wear it down

  • Caution: Fencing in small dog area is not totally to the ground in places so some small dogs might be able to escape
  • Small parking lot but overflow can go next door at Carter Swimming Pool lot closest to the trail going to the dog park and walk over approx 5 minutes. 
  • GPS may be wrong. Follow this address: 2601 Pleasant Valley Dr, Plano, TX 75023  The dog park is about 100 to 200 yards Southeast of the pool.
