*Make sure we have a place to park preferably in the front of your house on the street.
*Please allow a 3-hour window for pet grooming including 30 minutes before your scheduled appointment time. We may be running late or early. This is hard to predict because of working with live animals, traffic conditions, and whether or not the other customers have their pets ready upon arrival.
*We will not go in yards or under beds, etc. to look for your dog for you. It is your responsibility to have the dog ready for the groom and hand it to us. Please have your pet ready to go before we arrive. If your dog is hard to catch, have their leash and collar ready or put them in a place where you can easily catch them. We will not go get or catch the pet for you. If you have a housekeeper or anyone else getting the pet for you, make sure they understand this policy.
*Even though some dogs will come when called and aren't a problem to catch, some are. Please don't wait until the last minute to get your pet. Some dogs will run and hide when they hear the van because they don't want to be groomed! We will only wait a maximum of 15 minutes after arrival before we will reschedule and charge half of the cost of the groom for coming out. We have other appointments to go to so please respect this policy.
*Make sure your dog has went potty already by taking him/her for a walk or outside. Please don't feed it a bunch of food within an hour or two before the groom so it doesn't have to go on the table! If your dog potties after the bath or during grooming, we will have to stop the groom to clean the pet back up and possibly have to redo the groom. This will make the whole process take longer. If this happens, additional handling fees may apply.
*If your pet is high energy or hard to groom, you can play with it before the groom in order to get them more tired!
*You are welcome to text us for an ETA in order to have your dog ready.
*Make sure you notify us of any health issues or behavior issues before the groom.
*Please have your payment ready after the groom. We won't know all the charges until after the groom it complete unless you are a regular customer. We do not want to wait around for the payment because we have an appointment to go to so please stop what you may be doing to pay for the groom and be home when we are done. If you work from home and are on a call please have the payment ready. If you are leaving the home, you can pay before you leave. Please don't tell us you aren't home after the groom! We need to drop off the pet afterward! This seems obvious but it has happened before! Please have someone there to take the pet from us or make arrangements with us so we know what to do. There will be a charge of $1 per minute charged after the first 5 minutes we spend waiting if no one is home or available to take the pet after the groom is finished.
*Do not stress out your pet before the groom!
We ask all customers to book their own appointments on the website booking tab. We will not take responsibility for anyone who does not book their own appointment. Please do not blame us if you don’t have an appointment. It is up to you or someone in your family to help you book online. If you can’t book the appointment yourself for physical reasons or other reasons and no one in your family can help you, please call the business phone number between 7pm-9pm to book your appointment. We will not automatically book it for you because we would have to spend all of our time just booking appointments instead of grooming! However, the booking app will ask you if you want to book an appointment before 8 weeks are up. There is no guarantee if you wait that long you will get the time and day you prefer. There also may be a wait to be booked. We highly encourage you to pre-book your appointments in advance to ensure you have the preferred time and day you want. The booking app will allow you to book 180 days (approx 6 months) in advance. Many customers choose to book their appointments the same day their pet gets groomed.
***Fair warning: Book again the day of your grooming appointment or at least a month before you want your pet groomed. It is always wise to book in advance to ensure your day and time is set.
The average time for haircuts on dogs and cats is 1 hour to 1.45 hours. The average bath time for cats or dogs can be 30 minutes to an hour. When booking appointments allow a 3 hour window of time in case of running early or late. Please allow for 30 minutes early.
We groom dogs with a maximum weight of 30 pounds. No wild cats or hybrids or feral cats will be groomed. All pets must be tame. Your pet must be 3 months old with their second set of shots before getting groomed. Elderly pets of any age can be groomed unless their health is at risk where a vet needs to be available in case of seizures, heart attack or other serious health conditions arise. We may recommend a vet groomer if we feel very uncomfortable with the health or behavior of the pet. If a vet groomer is not an option because they refuse to sedate for elderly reasons, we will attempt to groom your pet with prior arrangements made and a signed waiver of release of all liability to groom the elderly/medically challenged pet. Special handling fees will apply.
This will depend on your pet. If it can tolerate the dematting and how long it will take. We will not sacrifice the comfort and safety of your pet for the physical appearance of your pet. We will not demat a pet that will take longer than 15 minutes to demat and the price is $1 per minute. Many times there will be balder spots where the hair has already pulled away from the skin as well as red lesions that may look like scrapes or sores. Please keep this in mind when contemplating your decisions.
We do have a small blow dryer. If your pet still can't do a small blow dryer, then we will towel dry it as best possible but please let us know in advance as we will not be able to cut wet hair. .
Only when necessary. If your pet bites for only the nails, let us know and we will muzzle for the nails only. If your pet may bite we will use a muzzle or an e-collar or a combination of both. Please be forthcoming on your pets' dislikes.
Yes! This is not a self-serve or to go order service. Pet grooming is a direct service to you as a customer for your pet. Tips are customary in pet grooming just like hair salons and barber shops. Average tips is 15-35%. Tips are greatly appreciated!
We have found that nip/snap is usually a bite even if it doesn’t break the skin on you, it may on us. Additionally, if your pet bites but doesn't have any teeth, we will attempt to groom. If your pet keeps moving and trying to bite even without teeth, it will be much harder to groom it without cutting the pet. If your pet has any teeth, we will most likely want to muzzle the pet. There may be additional charges if it takes longer to groom. If your pet is too aggressive and we believe it may harm itself or us, we reserve the right to stop the groom. Half of the booked grooming charge will apply even if we just come out but can't service the pet.
Dogs can be bathed as often as once a week depending on the dog. However, it is recommended not to bathe cats more than once a month because their skin will get dry. We recommend every 4-6 weeks. Some cats can’t/won’t tolerate the bathing process without getting totally stressed out. We have options for this problem and you can inquire before the appointment. Check our “shave down no bath” under the Services tab.
If your cat or dog may possibly bite then yes it should have a rabies shot. If you don’t have a rabies shot and If your pet bites a groomer and makes them bleed, it will have to be quarantined for 10 days until the city clears the pet. Pets are much more likely to bite groomers than their family because we are doing things to them that they may not be used to or it may frighten them.
